The VIII International Liszt Ferenc Competition 2025 (Hungary-Budapest) Malaysia Preliminary Round
- The VIII International Liszt Ferenc Competition Malaysia Preliminary Round is open to all nationalities. Participants are required to present a photocopy of their IC (Malaysians only) or passport (for non-Malaysians) for verification. The category of each participant is determined by their age just before the date of the Final Round of the competition (TBA).
- Participants may take part in a live performance at Dominus Arts Venue, Kuala Lumpur, or via online video submission for the Preliminary Round.
- Individuals may participate in multiple entries, either at a higher level or its equivalent, featuring the same or different repertoire(s). Participants are required to provide two copies of the music scores at the competition venue for the jury's reference.
- All performances must be memorized, and participants are not allowed to alter their repertoire after registration.
- The jury reserves the right to terminate a performance at any time during the competition. The jury's decisions are final, and no appeals or complaints will be entertained. The jury is not obliged to award all the prizes in a category if the participants' performances are deemed below expectations.
- The organizer reserves the right to reject any participant who fails to meet the requirements or violates the rules and regulations of the competition.
- All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Applications will be deemed invalid in cases of incomplete registration forms, non-payment of registration fees, or insufficient verification.
- Participants may choose the same or different repertoire for the Final Round.
- During the competition, flash photography, audio, or video recording is strictly prohibited.
- The organizer reserves the right to publish photographs, videos, and recordings of any aspect of the competition for educational or promotional purposes.
Certificates and Awards
Live Performance (Dominus Arts Venue, Kuala Lumpur):
- Certificates of Participation and Achievement: Both printed certificates, bearing the contestant’s name and details of the received award (if applicable), will be distributed on the same day during the award ceremony.
Online Video Submissions:
- Certificates of Participation and Achievement: Both will be provided in E-Cert format. Hard copies can be requested for an additional surcharge.
- Trophies: These will be dispatched via local postage services, subject to an additional surcharge.
Advancement to the Final Round
- Top winners receiving Gold and Silver awards are eligible to participate in the Final Round of The VIII International Liszt Ferenc Competition, scheduled to take place in Budapest, Hungary (TBA). On the day of the Preliminary Round, recipients of Gold and Silver awards will be presented with a Letter of Invitation to compete in the Final Round.
- Selected winners and award recipients must provide feedback regarding their decision to participate in the Final Round within a week after the Preliminary Round.
- Participants who qualify for the Final Round can proceed to register under the Final Round categories and compete in Budapest, Hungary.
